FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MARCH 6 2013
FDM Group – International IT services provider FDM Group has been named a finalist by CivilianJobs.com for the Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for Military 2013 for the first time. The MVE list, now in its fifth year of publication, recognizes the top employers for military-experienced job seekers and veterans to target for civilian career opportunities.
FDM’s Brandt Rousseaux commented, “As the VP of FDM North America and a retired US Coast Guard Commander, I am thrilled to see FDM recognized as a finalist for the CivilianJobs.com ‘Most Valuable Employers for Military 2013’. This acknowledgment is a validation of FDM’s rapidly developing Veterans Program and our commitment to recruit, transition, train, and employ military veterans for successful civilian careers in the IT industry.”
FDM’s Veterans Program focuses on transitioning qualified veterans into professional IT Consultants. Using its unique business model, which combines quality IT training and two years of commercial employment, FDM provides IT enthusiasts the essential skills needed to transition to successful careers in the Information Technology sector.
On the value of the FDM Veterans Program, former Army Specialist (SPC) and current FDM Consultant Antoneka Trought reflects, “Going through training at FDM was a life-altering experience. The material was challenging at times, but I learned a great deal. I have met wonderful people and made some great friends along the way. It was exciting to graduate from the FDM Academy and receive my certificate. It symbolizes that I have completed a step in starting my career in IT.”
The 2013 MVE for Military list was open to all U.S.-based companies. “Receiving more MVE submissions than any previous year tells us that employers are learning and appreciating the impact of hiring our nation’s former military,” said Pete Charest, Director of CivilianJobs.com.
The finalists were selected based on surveys in which employers outlined their recruiting, training and retention plans that best serve military service members and veterans. Winners will be selected from this pool of finalist companies and will be announced April 28, 2013.
